Gleb Sokolov (Novosibirsk) born in 1953 (September, 5) High-altitude climber Professional photografer, one of the best mountain and adventure photografers in Russia

Began to climb in 1972. His first high-altitude summit was Peak Lenin in 1979.

He stated the records in the speed ascents to all seventhousanders on the former USSR (Pamir and Tien Shan). Three times took part in speed ascent competitions to Khan Tengri. His best time BC(4200) - top - BC was 14 hours. Speed ascent to Pobeda Peak (7439) - 20 hours

Many time Winner and prizer of All Russia Mountaineering Championship.

Best climb (before the Himalaya period) - Peak Gorky - Khan Tengri Traverse (it needed to climb above 6500 m during many days)
