28 October, 2003 Nuptse East: the third attempt Koshelenko and Babanov returned th the Base CAmp after the 4-day rest - they hope to climb Nuptse in nearest days.

For the first time after famous climbs to South-West Face of Everest in 82 year and to Kangchenjunga in 89 year, the Russian climbers are awarded with the state awards. President V.V.Putin has signed the Decree about rewarding participants of the climb of Lhotse Middle, 8414 m (in 2001). Rewarding is solved to carry out on regions. Yesterday in Yekaterinburg governor Edward Rossel has handed over medals of an award
"For merits before Fatherland" 2 degrees. We congratulate Sergey Timofeev, Eugeny Vinogradsky, Alexey Bolotov and Nikolay Zhilin with State award. Other members will be rewarded in Moscow, Krasnoyarsk, Rostov-Don.

 

22 October, 2003 Nuptse East: the third attempt Very strong wind. Climbers descended to the Base Camp. They will wait fine weather and repeat the attempt of the summit bid.

20 October, 2003 Nuptse East: the third attempt The duo began the summit push today morning. They are spending night at 6200.

17 October, 2003 Nuptse East: the third attempt Babanov and Koshelenko reached 6900 m. Now and next two days the'll rest in Dingboche, then will try the summit push (October 21)

17 October, 2003 Now we have started to accept requests for climbing Communism Peak (7495 m.) and E.Korjenevskaya Peak (7105 m.) from International Base Camp (IMC) "Alp-Navruz" (Pamir, Moskvina Glacier) in 2004.

7 October , 2003 Jannu, North Face. The first party is already at 7200 m. It's very cold on the Wall, like in Winter - said Alexander Odintsov in radio interview from Jannu North Face today. Problems with sat phone were solved.

7 October, 2003 Nuptse East: the third attempt Babanov and Koshelenko climbed till 6450 m and set Camp at 6200m. Now they are resting in the Base Camp.

5 October , 2003 Jannu, North Face. The team have already set the Camp at 7000 m. There will be Alexander Odintsov "alive" radio interview this Tuesday (time and frequency will be confirmed soon).

Jannu, North Face. Good news from the North Face. The team was near 7000 m 4 days ago, they spent night in snow cave, all's OK. Nobody was higher than 7000 m at this North Face of Jannu. The leader Alexander Odintsov had a crack of hand bone, but hopes to begin to work at the route soon.
