URAL EVEREST SPRING 2002 EXPEDITION

The goal: to climb the North side of Everest (normal route)

7 June, 2002 Yesterday, 6 June the team arrived home. Members were met in Yekaterinburg airport, where the Editor of Ural mountaineering site Alexey Mjasnikov has got the interview from four climbers of the expedition

19 May, 2002 18 May Bolotov called: The whole team summited Mt. Everest - Bolotov and Borisov 16 May (Bolotov without oxygen), than they descended to ABC, other 4 members ( Kirievsky, Ermachek, Povolotsky and Ragozin) summited 18 May, than they descended to 8300. All are OK. Congratulations!

8 May, 2002 Alexey Bolotov:

4 May the C3 (7800) has been set (the third attempt was successful, two previous were failed because of strong storm winds. All team descended to ABC 7 May for the rest (about 5 days). All are healthy

Dmitry Pavlenko, the member of the Macalu 1997 expedition, has suddenly arrived to BC.Perhaps he'll join the team and will take part in the ascension.

18 April, 2002 All team (6 persons) ascended to Camp1 with a lots of gear, food, etc. They prepared 400m of the route higher the Camp1 Next day they are planning to descent to the BC for the rest. The oxygen has been got, all is OK

17 April, 2002 The party descended to ABC for the more equipment

16 April, 2002 The party Bolotov- Borissov set Camp1

14-15 April, 2002 All are in ABC (6400m), setting the camp

13 April, 2002 The team with yaks and load started to ABC. The expedition hasn't got the oxygen yet.

10 April, 2002 The team arrived to the Everest BC (North ), 5200m

4 April, 2002 All team arrived to Kathmandu. The expedition is planning on leaving Kathmandu for Tibet.

1 April, 2002 The team started to Himalaya. Today they fly to Tashkent, than will fly to Kathmandu
